You’ve heard it a million times. “A picture is worth a thousand words.” And it really is so true.
I was skimming through my insane library of photos the other day in an effort to locate a photo for a school project that Brady and Hayden were working on, and I came across this picture. Suddenly, the memories started flooding back.
Like Brady’s white-blond hair. It still gets super bleached out in the summertime sun, but every year it’s a little less white than the year before. And that look on his face – nothing changes!
Like Hayden’s skeptical glare at the camera. He still makes this same exact face, and it’s one of my favorites of his.
Like Grace in her plaid school jumper. This was her first grade year in school, and something about that peter-pan-collared-blouse and the plaid jumper is just like magic.
Like Quinn, staring up at all of his siblings. He has learned so much by watching them (both good and bad, admittedly), and I am so glad he has the gift of his older siblings. He was around a year-old in this picture, standing on our beloved “learning tower,” his perch of choice when doing anything in the kitchen.
Like our afternoons baking together. Such a gift, that gift of uninterrupted time, just hanging out together in the kitchen.
I am so glad I have so many photographs of my children. Each one floods my memory with more emotion that a thousand words ever could.
