March Munch Madness
March Madness came early to Choicelunch. You, our loyal eaters, sent in so many fabulous responses to our question: What is the most adventurous food you have eaten? You are enthusiastic foodies, through and through!
While the game continues through the end of the month, we wanted to share a few of your awesome stories!
Here is a sample of a few winning entries:
“I had Misoyaki Butterfish at Roy’s Restaurant while we were on vacation in Kauai. Generally I don’t like fish, but this was good! It didn’t taste fishy. I liked the sauce, which was sort of sweet and salty. Fish is pretty nutritious, since it has protein– and it is healthy because it has those special omega-3 oils. Also, butterfish is a good choice for sustainability, either caught wild or sustainably farmed.” Ben, 7th grade
“At least one day a month I have my two kids (ages 4 and 7) go into our cupboards and refrigerator, and they each pick out two items (one dry item and one fruit or vegetable) each that we must incorporate into dinner. Talk about an adventure trying to make pasta, celery and peaches go together. But we find a way to make it work, and the kids eat better since they are a part of cooking.” Lorrie, Mom
“The most adventurous foods I have tasted would be ostrich and buffalo.
My mom bought the buffalo from a grass fed only farmer, which made it very healthy, but not so tasty…… The ostrich was a filet from a fine restaurant in Napa, and I was with my family. It was very yummy and healthy.” Natalie, 5th grade
