Don’t Forget My Lunch, Mom!

Don’t Forget My Lunch, Mom!

There is a sign on our front door that reminds us in the office to bring home our lunches. Yes, all of us ‘support staff’ order Choicelunch online just like you do, not only for our midday breaks, but also to take home to our families. Many of us have young kiddos, not yet enrolled in school, and hungry spouses anxious for us to bring home the bacon (or salads and sushi, as is more often the case—no bacon yet on the Choicelunch menu.) What does this mean to you?

It means that we are proud of our food, and our ingredients. We feed ourselves and our families what we are fortunate enough to feed your Choicelunch students. Justin, our CEO has twin toddler boys and a 4 year old daughter. The kids love the pastas, Justin loves the Southwestern and Asian salads and anytime the tamale is on, his wife orders 2. Keith, our VP of Sales is in trouble if he forgets to bring his wife’s Chicken Caesar salads home; she takes them to work the following day. The Mariotti’s order lots of yogurt parfaits and bagels, their two year old being partial to the Sunbutter sammie ( no surprise given his Dad’s passion for all things peanut butter. No peanuts here, though, don’t you know!)

The rest of us get giddy each time our new Tikka Masala is on, often ordering double entrees, one for lunch, one for dinner. If the breakfast burrito is on the menu, there is a mad dash to the fridge by 10 am, and the smell of fluffy scrambled eggs and cheesy tortillas overwhelms the pleasantly persistent aroma of our office manager’s mango hand lotion, care of the Body Shop.

The point is: we feed our own families what we feed yours. We feed all our kids as if the future depended on it.
