Recently we took dozens and dozens of new lunch foods to a summer school program and had over 60 kids and teachers taste the items and give us their comments. With almost a dozen new entrees, snacks and condiments, there were a lot of successes. In fact, you are going to see four brand new lunch choices in September, and we have a whole buffet of new recipes lined up to present over the school year. What is wrapped in this foil package, though, was by far the biggest win in Choicelunch history.
Some of the comments of this mystery dish included:
- “The best hot lunch ever!”
- “This tastes better than the [one] at Giant’s stadium.”
- “I would order this because not only is it simply deleshus (sic) but healthy as well!”
- “It is the best thing I ever tasted.”
Now, it is true that when you give kids free food you get a lot of enthusiasts. Hyperboles come out and proclamations like those above can seem a tad extreme. Never though, in the years that we have been having kid tasting panels, have we ever had a universally positive response. For the first time, every single kid (hundreds of kids, in fact) proclaimed this a tasty treat they would love to eat at lunch.
