Chocolate milk is in the eye of the school lunch storm. No doubt about it. As a Mom, I am conflicted. This is ironic for those who know me, since when it comes to food I am all or nothing type of eater. I admit to coercing myself and my family to tow a hard line on what I deem to be ‘good food choices.’

Are your students food literate?

If you hear about kids and school food in the news, chances are the discussion is focused on the foods that are served and how much it all costs. There are so many other ways to look at the topic, though. “Food literacy,” is creeping its way into classroom curriculum, and we at Choicelunch couldn’t be happier that students are broadening their horizons, both at lunch tables and at their desks.
