In a past life I was a Personal Chef, catering dinner parties in Chicago’s hoity toity neighborhoods. Other than business insurance and color flyers to post on Whole Foods’ bulletin boards, one of the requirements of starting my little business was to get certified in food safety. Basically, the food safety course was 5 straight days of repeating phrases like, “Keep the hot food hot, keep the cold food cold, and don’t spit in the food.” I passed the exam, you’ll be happy to know.

Choicelunch is kicking off the school year with a reduced-sugar chocolate milk, which begs the question - just how much sugar has been "reduced"?  And how much is still in there?  There's a lot of talk floating around about chocolate milk, and as a parent, it's difficult to discern fact from sound bites.

 Probably like your kids, my son wakes up at the crack of 6:30 a.m., even on weekends. Often then, I’m trying to find fun things to do in the mornings when this working mama gets to enjoy time with my love. Last weekend found us driving over the Bay Bridge right around 8, looking for some excitement.
